This painting of Angel's Trumpets, or Brugmansia flowers, grew from my many studies done from the plants that flourished on my terrace. At night the flower buds twist open and emit a heavy perfume inciting moths to take their nectar. Their poisonous nature adds to their mystery and again this is a somewhat surreal painting since the trumpets in real life hang down, not up like like the faces of island singers of a madrigal.
