Naturally this painting relates to Edward Lear's nonsense poem.
I actually had a white cat and an owl and they modelled for this painting in the window.
This is the most surreal of my paintings since the sea is imaginary and the reflections in the window glass represent mirrors of the state of mind of the the two individuals bound by deep bonds of love.
